MACBOND


The MACBOND is the ideal solution in buildings where the inner leaf is of weaker, softer materials or lightweight block and the outer leaf is of good quality solid brick or concrete.The tie has the Mac expansion system for the outer leaf and an inner leaf fixing designed to be used with resin injection system.
Macbond is manufactured from A2, 300 series, austenitic stainless steel.The inner leaf rod is threaded for setting in BRC3 resin. BRC3 is a stable resin which does not contract or dry out and is easily applied from the 380m1 cartridge by hand applicator gun.

APPLICATION METHOD

NOTE:
Drill bits to conform to DIN 8035

 

DRILL
Drill 12mm diameter hole in brickwork within 100 upwards, setting depth gauge on drilling machine to give 60mm minimum hole depth in inner leaf.
BLOW OUT
Blowing out hole is critical to allow resin to key in and bond to surface of the hole.
RESIN INNER
Apply BRC3 resin to inner leaf with extended tube DTE I A/ 10 attached to nozzel, slowley withdrawing nozzle until it is clear of the inner leaf. Insert Tie. Allow time for resin to set before setting outer expander.

SET OUTER
Fit hex setting tool (FT5HS) on to torque wrench (TB 100) and set outer expander by tightening nut until pre-set torque is reached. Seal outer brick with colour matching mortar.
